Collaborative Work Project Introduction

What is CWP
I have been planning this idea for a very long time, to have a team of creative minds brainstorming and working together on a project. Collaborative Work Project(CWP) is what came of this idea. How great would that be to come up with ideas and share those with like minded people; to see your ideas come alive. I love to innovate and create, a team who thinks that way can create amazing things. CWP will allow people like you to work along side others alike to create something new; never seen before or to reimagine an idea. Everything can be improved and our team can be the ones who make that improvement. CWP's main goal is coming up with ideas to change and improve what we do everyday, make things intuitive, make thinks fun, and exciting. What is the point of doing something if you do not enjoy it, we give that chance for you to make something and enjoy doing it at the same time.

Uniqueness
The idea is solid and one of a kind. I am sure you have heard of creative groups turning into a big corporation. Yes that is possible, but the idea is different. CWP is not stuck with one way in mind, anything the group wants to create from their skills, they can do. CWP does not just have to pertain to software design, it can create a multiple of things it wants. For example: we could design hardware, music, animations, anything that involves creativity. CWP is the only group idea that allows people to work with each other to create amazing stuff without limitation of topic and skills. CWP is also the only group what would allow people who know nothing about coding and still create software.

The skills of group members all rely on each other, you may be the best coder in the world, but not so good at coming up with new ideas, CWP team will use your skills to help reach our goals. Another example, you could know nothing about coding, but you are extremely good at coming up with ideas. As your ideas go through the production process, that coder will be able to turn it into a usable product. Like I said, the group relies on each other. All you have to be to join, is creative and have a skill. The is all, you don't need a degree, you don't need to know a whole bunch of technical stuff, you only need a skill, a skill you think would contribute.

Money
I have to bring it up, because it will pop-up sometime or later. When you join, it is voluntary, you will not make many by just joining CWP. You have to work for it, literally. The things we create can make money and be fairly divided according to work done. I'll just pop this bit of information here, in a form or anything else, CWP will be referred to InfinityForge. InfinityForge name has been with me for along time, so that is what I choose to be the organization's name. CWP will get half of profits generated and the rest will be given to the team. CWP will use that money for things like services and products required. I would like if a team member needs a software/tool they can just ask and CWP will provide them with it. CWP does not run by the want for money, it runs for the innovation of the future. Please do not join CWP if money is the only reason you create. To sum this section up, you take "stock" in the group. Since a Marketer does not build the product, they get paid from the half collected from profits. Their amounts earned is for amount of work done.

Break down:

Lets say the product made $12,000 that month - 50% (CWP account), $6,000 is left. Four people worked on the product. One person has been at CWP for a year, they earned a extra 5 percent. The other three get $1,500 and the person who has been on the team for a year got $1,575.

Ideas for Jobs: (this would only be your main task, not the only thing your allowed to do, your free do what ever your good at)

  • Coder
  • Programer
  • Scripter
  • Ideas man... or lady
  • Graphic design
  • Concept orginator
  • Meeting organizer
  • User researcher
  • UX Designer
  • Marketing Expert
  • Web Development
  • (A person with connection)
  • Synchronizer
I will add more examples and post descriptions of what this titles consist of.

Collaboration
I am trying to raise money to pay for Bitrix24 intranet so we can have more then 12 people collaborating in it. This program will allow us to collaborate and plan everything going on in CWP. You can check Bitrix24 here bitrix24.com. To help us get Bitrix24, just contact stopblabbin@me.com. Podio was another one I was thinking about, but is $8 a month per person.

InfinityForge
Let me clear up the difference between InfinityForge and CWP. InfinityForge is what we put as the company or creators of the products. CWP is our team of creators to be refereed to. Like in many organizations you have the main derivative, then you have sub derivatives. In IFO (InfinityForge Organization) we have CWP and WDP. WDP stands for Web Development Project, which is for clients websites. The web development team from CWP does not relate to WDP, they can help though if they want to be nice. CWP and WDP are all branded under InfinityForge name. That probably didn't clear it up, but I tried.

Ideas to create: (these are just ideas and not a task list)

  • Brainstorming Mobile App
  • Phone OS
  • Desktop OS
  • Internet Browser
  • Website (then add a subject)
  • Email Application
  • 3D Animation
  • Organizing App
  • Film Editor Software
  • App that auto cites while you type (InstaCite)
  • Video Game
  • App Market
  • Spreadsheet app
I was just looking at my computer application list to come up with these, but you get the idea. I really like open-source, but am fine with proprietary software.

Hierarchy
We are not Anarchists, CWP still needs people in charge or there will be madness in our midst. Every project will have a leader, so the project can stay on track. Everyone in the team will get the same amount of input into a project as everyone else. The leader is just the one who keeps things going. I being Board Director, will get a final say on the projects start and completion. Let me explain my self before you get to thinking about that statement. If I see a project that could risk CWP, I will not allow it's progress to continue. I want to see strong, innovative, and unique products to come out of CWP, so I do have to place my ruling there. For the most part, that is the extent of my highness. All team members are paid to their non monetary interest in the group and time spent in CWP, not titles or position. A Director can make just the same as a Meeting Organizer. It all depends on work contributed.

Structure layout:

Board Directors (will only consist of Board Director, Development Director, Marketing Director, and a VC if that comes about)

Team - (The Team and Board of Directors coexist, the Board Director just keep things organized)

Joining CWP
To join just email stopblabbin@me.com with your name, skill (and a bit about it), and your country (English speaking only). When you join CWP, you are not being hired to a company. You are joining a community of creative thinker and innovators who like to build stuff. If that stuff makes money, then you get a percentage, but, that us not the point of CWP. You are not required do anything when you join, you do not have scheduled hours like 9-5, even though we do like to plan virtual conversations.

If you want to know anything more about CWP, just email the link I gave above, I would hate for any question to go unanswered. I also encourage you to comment and share.

Computer Access Screen

Lock Screen
The lock screen uses a new “password” concept called Passarray. You can learn more about that below. The lock screen also allows a 3rd party input device like a phone to unlock your computer. Here is how it works, on your phone you have connected to your computer, you can do the passarray pattern on your phone. You can also have the camera look at your phone and at what the phones camera sees. You then can move your phone in a pattern you preset to unlock. One more so far, if you already have your phone with the passarray unlocked, you can just set your NFC enabled phone against the computer and it will unlock.
Passarray
We didn’t go with the password scheme because it just doesn’t seem right for a such an operating system that does everything better, just sayin. The passarray allows more input methods to be optimized then just a keyboard. Yes, you can always change back to scrawny password security. It optimizes the input of mouses, touch screens, and Leap Motion.
  • Mouse - The mouse can be used to drag the circles to the pattern you have created.
  • Touch Screen - Basically the same as the mouse. It’s a substantial time saver though. Unlike your password, you can create a simple pattern and it will take ages to crack, since their are a great amount of combinations.
  • Leap Motion – Passarray works in 3D space. You can move the spheres, in this case, in the space to create your pattern.
Passarray’s layout is standard with the four circles, but you can change it to become more complex.

Next one will pop-up soon, please like and share.

Doing Websites The Wrong Way

You have designed your website wrong, so has many people done before, so have myself... you mostly. It's widely common to do something as such, creating something bad and publishing it, I dont't obviously. What needs to be discussed, is the way to avoid these oversights. I was very templed to put another period after oversights, just to make my point again.

If you haven't left just yet, which you have, below I've constructed a list of common annoyances.

Music in Website
Now many school including mine use laptops in schools, also in a curriculum. Whenever I’m researching the interweb and come across a website that uses music on entry, I don’t want everyone in class turned towards me hearing some horrid music someone seems to like. I know what the simple solution is, turn off the sound, but I’am not going to this site to hear it. Did they really think elevator music adds a nice atmosphere to there website? No matter what, It does not. Let's say, this is a band page I come across, the website designer thinks “This could really make the visiter know that this our new song, so I guess I could make them hear it when they visit.” long thought, but again, another moron. I came across this band page, without the intent to listen to their new music, you can guess what happened. Even if I was, I would find it on a player on their website, not in my face. So please, keep music a findable option, not a forced option.

Splash Pages
If you don’t know what a splashpage is, here is what it is, "an unnecessary page in a website that makes people click out of it". Basically the only good use for one is a language select, age select, or even a bandwidth select. They are good for knowing some type of preference that the visitor has, which is useful. Still in 2012 I have visited websites that literally say “Hello” then an enter button or a logo that they think everyone knows to click on it.

Misspelling
I wanted to give you an example but my spell-checker yelled at me. For my Wix users, Wix does not offer that feature yet, so either write it in Pages or another text editor. I just find it annoying, unprofessional, and bad for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

Pixels
Yes, I know there in your website, but I just don’t want to see them. I don't want to be at a website and their photos are as pixelated as a pedestrians face on a TV show. Try finding a better resolution image or make the image smaller, but not too small where it's as big a as a pixel. <Insert lame joke here: You get the picture.>

Unorganized
This seems like a no-brainer, but I still see website that don’t line up there blocks (chunks of content) or even worse, don’t have a layout. They just seem to try and find where they can just pop something there. As a visitor to the site, I want to feel as the website cares about me and my visit, not just putting some information on a site. A website tells a great deal of the company and if the website doesn’t care, does the company?

Protrusive  Advertising
This is one of the worsts, now I will understand website like IGN using the “Continue to website” pages, ‘cause that is how they make all of their money. For another website, it doesn't work and makes it very annoying, more annoying then splash pages. In text ads, pop-up ads, full page ads, and morons who have people step out from the side of the screen talking to you from their website that everyone clicks out immediately. If you want advertisements in your website, make them discrete. Make them clicked on if a visitor wants to click on them. The best way of placing ads is to be discrete, not obtrusive.

Out dated colors
Colors go out of date, let's take a look at those now A A A A A, I don’t want to be seeing those colors on your site, they are just awful colors in web pages now. If you can look back at a website from along time ago and say “Hey, I use that same color”. You’ve got an outdated color, Its like having a green colored stove in your 2012 contracted home, those two things just do not work together.

Inconstancy in Work
When I am reading a website and see something out of the usual, like when they use the word I’ll for ten times, but one time the use it like this i’ll. If you keep constant in your writing or even design of the site, it will look more professional and cleaner. I will admit, I will do this everyone and awhile, but I’ll word on this and i’ll keep working on it until I got it.

Too Glossy
What I mean about "too glossy" is placing gradients, shine, shadows, all of that stuff everywhere on your website. It looks like you are trying to make up for something, possibly your lack of talent, but your gone so it's fine. The best thing to do, create a good layout (I will do a post about this sometime in the past), then apply that to your website where needed.

"Is it dead?"
Do you really want to visit a site that says “Check out the brand new Apple II”. I would just leave, so make sure that your content is alive and with the times or you might just be indexed as a time-capsule. Which is not good for SEO and for the visits, I mean the things that are now just collecting dust on your shelf.

Best Place on The Internet
I am surprised that people still do this. I have visited basically five different sites that have the same content, but each one says there the best. Does it really help your site to say that it is the best place for all the news? Especially since many places say that now, it is meaningless. Now, if you won every award possible, you have the right to say that, but you don't. Say, something about your use or why you’re better then the rest. Include in your content something extra and your visitor will come to you more then everyone else.

Funeral Attitude
I’ll ask you a question, is it more fun to go to a comedy show or a funeral? I will just assume you chose comedy show. On a site that is boring and just tells you some facts, isn’t fun nor exciting. Invoking some humor to something makes the site better, it just does. Be comical not tactless, there is a big difference and you don’t want to cross it or sound like you’re trying. For some people it's easier to be comical, but even if your not, trying will lead to some uncoveries (make it learn that word or add to dictionary). You may even find out you have a good sense of humor. Humor adds something to a website, that just content doesn’t.

Saying there is more coming soon, in an unfinished post
I’ll continue to add to this as I think of it, much better right?

This list was from my old blog and not completely new, it still is relevant though.
